Day 7 sketchbook challenge and UKSN craft zoom
Day 7 Sketchbook challenge
Prompt : Seven
As with all these prompts I find it easiest to stick with the first thing that pops in my head. So for this one I drew a pair of die.. or some dice. To give it the correct grammar. (I hope).
UKSN Fortnightly crafting zoom
Every 2 weeks I attend a zoom meeting with my friends from the UK stampers network.
We chat and catch up with each other but recently we have been having mini workshops run by the members of the club.
This week we did wax rubbing (or frontage) to create backgrounds for cards or other projects.
You need
- thin copier/printer paper or card
- White crayon or wax candle
- Water
- Paintbrush
- acrylic paint
- Water in a pot
- Something with texture (embossing folder, stencil, mini gem sheet, texture board, etc..)
2. Rub the wax over the paper quite hard to ensure you get an Impression of the item underneath
3. Remove the paper
4. Using watery paint brush over the paper
You should see the texture appear as a resist. It may improve as it dries.
Try with different textured things and different paint,(watercolours, brush) or maybe even inks.
Here is a card I made using a texture board as my texture plate.
Xx
