Mini Pocket Album

Today's post is a complete tutorial to make a mini pocket album.

I should clarify. The size we are making here does not actually fit in you pocket - it is an album with pockets. However if you made a smaller one it would!

To make an 4 inch square album with 8 page sides you need:

4 pieces of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper or thin card - Double sided or single sided.
paper trimer
glue or double sided sticky tape
scissors
12 x 12 scoreboard (optional)

To make a smaller album you just use a smaller square of paper.

1. For the pages trim 3 of the pieces of paper to 11.5"/29cm square. The 4th piece will be the cover and stays 12 x 12.

Making the pocket pages of the album

2. Take one of the trimmed page and fold it in half in both directions. (Use the score board if you prefer). Make sure you crease the edges.

3. Fold the paper in half and place in front of you with the opening at the top.

4. For the page pocket. Fold the top right corner over to the middle. and crease.

5. You now have a choice. You can either fold the corner behind or in front depending on how you would like your pocket to look.

6. Stick the pocket flap and the adjacent square flap done with tape or glue.

7. Fold the pocket page closed and crease.

8. At this point you can trim up the edges if necessary.

9. Repeat point 2 - 7 for the other 2 trimmed pages.

Making the Cover of the album

10. Use the untrimmed page for the cover.

11. Fold the page in half both ways creasing well.

12. Unfold the page and place double sided tape or glue on one half of the page and stick the side together.

13. Fold to page in half and crease well.

Constructing the album

14. Ensure the pocket pages are the correct way up and the order you want them in.

15. Put tape or glue on the back of pocket pages 1 and 2. (Tip : If using tape apply a glue stick over the top to give some wiggle room when sticking the books together.)
